Job Title: Windows & Citrix Upgrade Consultant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows & Citrix Upgrade Consultant to lead the migration and upgrade of Citrix servers from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2025. This fully remote role involves coordinating with on-site technicians and field engineers to ensure a seamless transition, optimize infrastructure performance, and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing large-scale server upgrades within data center environments, supporting both infrastructure and application migration efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of Citrix and Windows Server upgrades from 2016 to 2025.
- Collaborate remotely with field teams and stakeholders to coordinate installation, testing, and validation activities.
- Prepare and deliver detailed weekly status reports and project summaries to ensure transparency and effective communication.
- Support hardware deployment, data center provisioning, and associated infrastructure changes as part of the upgrade process.
- Facilitate the migration of legacy Line-of-Business (LOB) client applications onto the new Server 2025 environment, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Document system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures for future reference and troubleshooting.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for server and application migration, including user transition and post-upgrade support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10 years supporting Windows Server and Citrix server infrastructures in enterprise data center environments.
- Proven expertise in supporting server upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting within complex IT environments.
- Strong experience with data center server hardware, virtualization, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Adept at guiding remote teams through technical installations, troubleshooting, and configuration.
- Excellent documentation skills, including creating network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2025 environments.
- Familiarity with Citrix infrastructure, application publishing, and end-user support.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale Citrix user and application migrations.
- Knowledge of data center operations, hardware deployment, and virtualization technologies.
