Role Title: UI/UX Designer
Client: Wisconsin Elections Commission
Location: Madison, WI (90% Remote; Onsite 3 4 days/month)
Work Authorization: No H1B, CPT, or OPT

Mandatory Requirements

Must currently reside in Wisconsin with prior work history in the state
Ability to commute onsite to Madison 3 4 days per month (self-funded)
Minimum 3 years in UI/UX roles
Experience working with:
- Low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes
- User research (qualitative and quantitative)
- Personas, user flows, and journey maps
- WCAG accessibility concepts
Exposure to ASP.NET, Razor, Telerik, Angular, or React is a plus

Nice-to Have Skills

Experience designing with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines
Ability to articulate design choices and present ideas clearly
Familiarity with ASP.NET Core frameworks including Razor
Experience with third-party UI component libraries such as Telerik
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
Familiarity with Angular or React

Role Overview

The UI/UX Designer will support the redesign of WisVote, Wisconsin s statewide voter registration system built on the .NET Core framework. This system serves as the central database for voter and election information across the state.

The designer will collaborate with developers and election specialists to:

Create intuitive and accessible designs that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
Develop wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, and user flows
Conduct user research and usability analysis
Support accessibility testing
Ensure a consistent and responsive user experience across devices
