Research Associate I- Animal Genetic Tech for a
CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier
Pharmaceutical clients in
Dixon, CA.
The Animal Genetic Technologies department seeks a motivated laboratory researcher who will assist in the discovery of groundbreaking therapeutics by supporting the primary research of several hundred internal customers.
Responsibilities :
- Processing samples in the laboratory (both manually and via laboratory robotics)
- Analyzing and performing quality control of genetic data
- Helping to evaluate and implement new technologies
Required Skills:
- Lab experience required: instrumentation, manual PCR, validation/troubleshooting, and analyzing and reporting
- Must be detail oriented
- Applicants should have a learning mindset
- Be able to work in a fluid and diverse environment
- Possess a strong desire to participate in research support efforts while feeling comfortable working primarily in a laboratory setting.
- BS Degree required (Genomics or Forensics would be nice to have, but not required)
Preferred Skills:
- Next gen sequencing
- Experience with NGS technologies like Miseq and/or Illumina
- Candidates should have 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in a laboratory setting
