The Boeing Company's Talent Analytics and Innovations team is currently seeking a
Senior ETL Developer and Data Specialist to join our team in Seattle, WA. The Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) Developer and Data Specialist designs, builds, and maintains ETL/ELT pipelines, data infrastructure, and analytics-ready datasets to support business intelligence, analytics, and graph-enabled use cases. This role will work closely with analytics, data science, data governance, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, performant, and well-governed data solutions using Alteryx, Teradata, Neo4j, and Tableau.
Position Responsibilities:- Design, develop, test, and operate ETL/ELT workflows and data integrations using Alteryx and other orchestration tools
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data into Teradata (and other data warehouses/lakes) with strong focus on performance and resource optimization
- Model, implement, and maintain graph data models and pipelines using Neo4j to support relationship-centric analytics and discovery
- Collaborate with analysts and Business Intelligence (BI) teams to create certified, analytics-ready datasets and semantic layers consumed by Tableau dashboards and reports
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, reconciliation processes, and monitoring/alerting for ETL jobs and data products
- Profile source systems, document data lineage, and maintain metadata in coordination with Data Stewards and governance teams
- Optimize SQL and Teradata-specific constructs (e.g., statistics, join strategies, VPROC considerations) for high-volume ETL and query performance
- Support incremental and change-data-capture (CDC) patterns; implement effective partitioning and archiving strategies
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, deployment artifacts, and handoffs for operational support
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and CI/CD processes; implement infrastructure-as-code or automated deployment where applicable
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to reduce recurrence
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices for data engineering, modeling, and visualization
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- 3+ years of hands-on ETL/data engineering experience building production data pipelines
- Experience with Alteryx for building ETL flows, macros, and automation
- Experience with Teradata development and performance tuning (SQL, utilities, load strategies)
- Experience building and querying Neo4j graph databases and modeling graph relationships for analytics
- Experience developing Tableau dashboards and supporting extracts, data sources, and visualization best practices.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Certifications: Alteryx Designer Advanced, Teradata certification, Neo4j Certified Professional, Tableau Desktop/Server Certified Associate (or similar)
- Experience with cloud data services and hybrid architectures (cloud connectors to Teradata, Neo4j Aura, S3/ADLS integrations)
- Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration frameworks
- Advanced SQL skills and deep familiarity with Teradata SQL dialect and performance considerations.
- Alteryx Designer/Server experience: workflow design, macro development, scheduling, and debugging
- Neo4j: data modeling (nodes/relationships), Cypher query language, import/migration patterns, and indexing strategies
- Tableau Desktop/Server or Tableau Cloud: data source design, LODs, performance optimization, and dashboard design
- Experience with ETL orchestration and scheduling tools (Alteryx Server, Airflow, Control-M, etc.)
- Experience with CDC, incremental loads, and data partitioning/archival approaches
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar) for orchestration, transformations, and utilities
- Experience with data quality tools/processes and metadata/catalog tools (or willingness to integrate them)
- Experience with security and privacy best practices for PII/HR data: role-based access, encryption, masking

Summary pay range: $131,750 - $190,000
