Summary

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that software developed at Verity Solutions meets the highest standards of quality. This position collaborates with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other SQA team members to understand user scenarios, scope of change, and to develop and execute test cases. The role also supports the test automation program and contributes to the overall improvement of software quality processes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute software test cases to support Verity's software development activities.
  • Collaborate with developers and product management to ensure sufficient test case coverage for new and existing functionality.
  • Participate in defining and clarifying software development and testing requirements.
  • Partner with SQA colleagues to develop and maintain the collection of test cases.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum development process, including standups, grooming, and sprint planning.
  • Validate data sets against documented business rules.
  • Log and document testing activities as appropriate.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and risks in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to supporting and improving Verity's software development processes.
  • Develop and promote SQA best practices.
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary company and customer information, including HIPAA data.
  • Support and promote Verity Solutions' values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience performing functional or user acceptance testing of a software product is desired.
  • Experience in the 340B industry or medication purchasing workflows within a hospital or software vendor, with a strong desire to transition into IT and software testing.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with working in cloud environments.
  • Working experience with MongoDB and Golang is desired.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments is desired.
  • Familiarity with web application security best practices and security testing is desired.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to be effective with minimal direction.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a Scrum-based environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and business processes.
  • High level of curiosity and critical thinking, with a strong desire to learn new concepts.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,200 - 182,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
