Summary

Supporting and maintaining DB2 subsystems in a z/OS environment

Performing DB2 software installs, upgrades, and maintenance

Diagnosing and resolving complex DB2 and related product issues

Tuning DB2 for optimal performance and resource utilization

Providing technical leadership and documentation for DB2 best practices

Utilizing a strong knowledge of SMP/E and its role in the installation process

Conducting ongoing maintenance (installing, patching, upgrading, administering, etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems, systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services. The candidate is required to provide Production off-hour coverage and support periodic weekend implementations.
