Position: QA Auditor
Industry: Public Sector
Type: 6+ months contract
Location: Charlotte, NC (3x hybrid)
Day to day:
Conduct comprehensive quality audits of citywide development policies, records, and process adherence
Maintain and improve ISO 9001 quality standards across departments
Collaborate with departments to drive corrective and preventive actions
Support performance measurement and benchmarking initiatives
Recommend quality improvements and process enhancements
Participate in continuous improvement planning and city audit workshops
Update and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Coach internal teams on quality compliance and auditing best practices
Apply root cause analysis methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to recurring audit findings or compliance issues
Must haves:
5+ years in quality assurance and/or auditing roles
Certified ISO 9001 Auditor (or equivalent ISO cert)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum); Black Belt preferred
Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and audit lifecycle
Strong documentation and analytical reporting skills
Effective communicator with cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to work in public sector or similarly regulated environments
Plusses:
Root cause analysis expertise (5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA, etc.)
Prior experience working with municipal governments or transit authorities
Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 55001, or related standards
Experience conducting or facilitating Kaizen/CI events
Process mapping using Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or similar tools
Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $40 - $43 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
