The Inventory Management SME will support the Inventory Management Lead by providing hands-on expertise in inventory operations and execution realities, especially within in-kind donation and distribution models. This role focuses on translating operational detail into clear, implementable process and control designs.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting documentation of current-state inventory processes, including donation intake, storage, transfers, distributions to nonprofit recipients, adjustments, damages, and write-offs
Supporting the design of future-state inventory workflows that integrate physical product movement, system transactions, valuation logic, and financial reporting
Advising on practical control points within inventory processes, including reconciliations, approvals, exception handling, partner confirmations, and recipient acknowledgements
Providing detailed input into inventory-related process narratives, flow diagrams, and Risk & Control Matrices, with attention to clarity and usability
Supporting working sessions with operations, logistics, and finance teams to validate feasibility and ensure designs reflect real execution constraints
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in inventory operations, warehouse management, logistics coordination, or supply chain execution, with exposure to environments involving third-party warehouses, in-transit inventory, or partner-reported activity. Familiarity working alongside finance and audit teams—and comfort with valuation, reconciliation, and documentation requirements—is highly relevant.
