Java Database Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java Database Developer in Jersey City, NJ.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Java Database Developer will serve as a technical expert for one or more applications
* Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure designs meet functional requirements
* Partner with Infrastructure to deploy optimal hosting environments
* Optimize application performance and resolve issues
* Research and evaluate technical solutions
* Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities
* Apply appropriate software development methodologies based on project needs
* As a Java Database Developer, you will contribute to component design and participate in construction and testing
* Support development teams with testing, fixes, and production support
* Build applications and unit tests to meet functional and non-functional requirements
* Work with peers to improve continuous integration and delivery

REQUIREMENTS:
* 8-10 years of related experience
* 6+ years in Java/J2EE development; Java 17+
* Experience with XML/XSD, JSON
* Strong backend expertise with Spring Boot
* Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
* REST API development using Spring Boot
* CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, JoCoCo, Maven
* Database and PL/SQL (Oracle, Snowflake preferred)
* Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker
* Agile methodology
* Code coverage and testing: JUnit5, Mockito, PowerMock
* Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures, algorithms
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
