Job Title: Data Engineer

Position Overview

A large organization in the healthcare domain is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions that support analytics, reporting, and business operations. This role focuses on building high-quality data solutions using Snowflake and Informatica, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, security, and accessibility for enterprise stakeholders.

The primary work location for this role is Boston, Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica to ingest, transform, and load data into Snowflake.

• Ensure data handling and storage comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational privacy and security standards.

• Develop and support data models, schemas, and views within Snowflake to enable efficient analytics and reporting.

• Support data interoperability and exchange initiatives using healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and X12 EDI.

• Implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and data quality processes to ensure trusted and consistent datasets.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.

• Develop and maintain documentation related to data flows, metadata, transformation logic, and architecture.

• Support data security, access control, and governance within Snowflake and Informatica environments.

• Participate in testing, deployment, and release management for new data workflows and enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in SQL-based data engineering or ETL development.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including SQL development and data modeling.

  • Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, procedures, and data warehousing concepts.

• 3–5 years of experience with SQL and scripting languages.

• 3–5 years of experience designing, coding, testing, documenting, and maintaining database systems and processes.

• Experience with SDLC, including Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML, CSV).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and cloud storage services (e.g., S3, Blob Storage).

• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

• Experience using Python for scripting and automation.

• Knowledge of Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) and/or Data Catalog tools.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile development environments.

Education & Certifications

• Snowflake and/or Informatica certifications are a plus.
