Location: Columbus, OH/ Akron OH / Minneapolis, MN / Minnetonka, MN / Chicago, IL / Pittsburgh, PA / Detroit, MI / Flint, MI / Charlotte, NC / Denver, CO/ Dallas, TX (4 Days onsite, 1 day remote)

Type: LONG term contract with possible hire

Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Mainframe / COBOL Developer to join our team and support a variety of financial data projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in COBOL programming, JCL, and DB2 in mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain, upgrade, and optimize COBOL programs and JCL scripts for data processing and reporting.

1. Write and manage JCL scripts for batch job execution.

1. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

1. Collaborate with business partners and technical teams to implement logic changes and ensure data accuracy to support financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

1. Collaborate with analysts, QA, and other developers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

1. Execute testing cycles and assist in troubleshooting and performance tuning.

1. Document code changes and create technical documentation.

1. Participate in code reviews and adhere to development standards.

1. Support production deployments and incident resolution.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.

1. 3+ years of experience in COBOL development and mainframe systems.

Proficiency in:

• COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve, VSAM, and DB2.

1. File-AID, TSO/ISPF, Abend-AID.

1. Changeman for version control and deployment.

1. Mainframe scheduling tools for job automation and batch processing.

1. Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects.

1. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA).

1. ZEKE/ZENA scheduling tools.

1. Industry experience in finance.

1. Experience with financial data structures, financial and regulatory reporting.
