Position Overview

The Lead Application Analyst will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing core banking and payment applications within a commercial banking environment. This role is responsible for leading application support, performance optimization, and technical strategy while managing workflows, timelines, and service demand forecasts. The incumbent will act as a technical and functional lead, partnering closely with business users, technology teams, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure high availability, performance, and regulatory compliance of banking applications.

Must-Have Requirements

• Proven experience working with Core Banking systems
• Strong hands-on experience with banking payment modules, including:
• Online Banking
• ACH
• Wire Transfers
• Bill Pay
• Payment Processing Applications
• Solid .NET development and application support experience
• Prior experience working as a Lead Analyst in a Commercial Banking environment

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead application support and enhancement for core banking and payment platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Develop and manage work plans, timelines, and workflows to meet project and operational objectives.
• Participate in project estimation, service demand forecasting, and business case development for technology initiatives.
• Monitor system health, review logs and reports, and proactively identify and resolve performance, capacity, and reliability issues.
• Perform root cause analysis across hardware, software, databases, and application layers.
• Design and implement performance metrics and monitoring solutions to improve application stability and availability.
• Translate business needs into system requirements and technical objectives, ensuring alignment with performance and compliance goals.
• Provide technical consulting on business impact related to application performance, system changes, and upgrades.
• Lead strategic planning for application platforms to support organizational growth and evolving business needs.
• Collaborate with Technology teams, PMO, and lines of business to design, review, and implement application changes.
• Act as a vendor liaison, managing relationships with external vendors and consultants, including contract and SOW reviews.
• Lead and mentor team members, assign work, coordinate processes, and contribute to performance management activities.
• Partner with management to define tactical plans and independently execute assigned project tasks under minimal supervision.
• Ensure adherence to the organization’s risk management, regulatory, and compliance standards in all application activities.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required

Experience

• 7+ years of technology experience supporting enterprise applications
• Strong background in application administration, operations, and performance optimization within financial services
