JOB DESCRIPTION

Fiserv is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance and Test Automation Engineer to support Gateway Services products, with a focus on functional, regression, and automated testing across multiple platforms. This role requires a senior-level QA professional who can work independently with global technical teams and senior stakeholders, define test strategy, and drive automation and quality improvements across large, high-volume systems.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy, Planning & Execution

Define, develop, and execute test strategy, test plans, and test approach for projects of moderate complexity across multiple programs/systems.
Lead and participate in test planning and quality review sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
Oversee and contribute to test case design, test script creation, and execution activities across:

Application testing
API/web services testing
Network/system testing
Regression testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support

Perform hands-on testing and participate in daily coordination calls as needed.

Automation Engineering

Design and execute automated test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing across two or more platforms.
Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks and tools to improve coverage and execution efficiency.
Monitor and execute automation activities for large-sized projects, ensuring stability, scalability, and reporting consistency.
Analyze test results, identify defects, support triage, and partner with development teams to ensure timely fixes and re-validation.

Technical QA Operations

Perform end-to-end testing activities including planning, design, scripting, execution, debugging, defect reporting, and test metrics.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to define scope of testing, environments, dependencies, and release readiness.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in team standards, resourcing, test execution discipline, defect prevention, and quality reporting.
Research and evaluate new testing tools/approaches and support implementation and adoption.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automation suites and enabling consistent, repeatable testing.

Required Qualifications

9+ years of related technical QA / test automation experience.
Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience and/or relevant certifications.
Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Hands-on experience testing:

APIs, RESTful/JSON web services, and TCP/HTTP applications

Test automation expertise using one or more of the following:

QTP/UFT
JMeter
Selenium WebDriver / TOSCA
TestNG

Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, C#, or Python.
Strong working knowledge of testing tools, database concepts, and MS Office.
Strong understanding of information systems components (hardware, software, networks) and how they support business processes.

Domain Experience Required (Payments)

Merchant Payment Processing, including:

POS and Card-Not-Present (eCommerce/digital) authorizations
Clearing & settlement systems
Merchant onboarding and reporting
Fraud/security analytics

Payment processing experience for Financial Institutions, including debit/credit and loan systems such as:

New accounts, plastics, letters/notifications, preferences, parameter controls
Payments, account maintenance, memos, rewards
Fraud, statements, collections
Authorizations, chargebacks/retrievals, merchants, settlement

Experience working in high-volume, large-scale financial services processing and reporting environments.
Experience supporting highly available OLTP applications.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Experience building reusable automation assets and standards across teams.
Strong defect analytics and reporting (metrics, trend analysis, release readiness).
Exposure to test execution in distributed systems and multi-environment release pipelines.
