Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Engineer II in Dallas, TX.
Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and tech-savvy IT professional to join our team as a System Engineer II supporting small to mid-sized businesses throughout the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will possess an upbeat personality capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while demonstrating a passion for providing outstanding client experiences.
As a Systems Engineer II, you will work as an individual contributor collaborating with multiple internal teams to provide expertise, recommendations, and execution for systems implementation, administration, and support to deliver outstanding customer service. You will serve as a primary technical resource for approximately 30 dedicated clients while providing backup support for an additional 30-60 clients.
Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive on-site and remote technical support to clients across the Greater Houston area
* Serve as an escalation resource for more complex technical issues
* Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktop and server environments
* Configure, optimize, and secure network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
* Deploy and manage cloud solutions, particularly in Microsoft Azure
* Administer VMware virtualization platforms
* Install, configure, and maintain Fortinet security equipment including switches and firewalls
* Develop and implement security best practices across client environments
* Create and maintain detailed documentation for all client networks ("Guidebooks")
* Perform regular preventative maintenance and system updates to minimize downtime
* Respond to and resolve client technical emergencies within established SLAs
* Build and maintain professional relationships with client contacts
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma/GED or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
* 3-5 years of relevant technical and customer service experience
* Experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
* Experience implementing and managing cloud services (particularly Microsoft Azure)
* Experience configuring Fortinet devices, including firewall policies and security profiles
* Direct experience with Windows Server platforms, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
* Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory/Azure (User Management/Administration)
* Practical knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, and switching
* Working knowledge of common TCP/IP services including HTTP, FTP, DNS, and DHCP
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
* Proficiency with VMware virtualization technologies
* Demonstrated proficiency with Windows 10/11 desktop operating systems
* Creative thinking and an innovative approach to technical challenges

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
