Hourly RangeOverviewThe goal of the Procurement Operations - Data Analytics Internship at Yale is to provide selected New Haven Promise Scholars with exposure and a learning experience using various analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, Workday Worksheets). The intern will summarize past spending patterns to identify opportunities for savings (through consolidation, negotiation) and will prepare use cases and success stories for using preferred vendors and contracts.
In this position, the intern will work under the direction of the Business Data Analytics Leader. This internship is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, dedicated individual seeking real-world analysis experience!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Understanding the specific analysis needs and business purpose
- Defining the analysis approach
- Exporting data from various systems (Workday, Salesforce, Power BI Datamart)
- Preparing analysis in Excel or Power BI and documenting the process in MS Word
- Develop analytical summaries in Word or Outlook for distribution/presentation to requestors
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities- Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
- Experienced and/or proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well both independently and in team settings.
