Location: Fully remote, aligned to EST working hours
Contract: W2 only, 6-month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion
Pay: $70-$75/hour W2 + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
Overview
The team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced shared services environment. This role focuses on leading the development and design of Supply Chain Data Engineering solutions, orchestrating data pipelines, resolving production and connectivity issues, and guiding team members across multiple parallel initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop data ingestion and transformation solutions using varied data file formats (Avro, JSON, CSV) with PySpark, Terraform scripting, and DevOps processes
- Lead development initiatives by writing code that meets FTR and quality standards, ensuring timely delivery of multiple projects
- Oversee code quality and maintenance through best practices including code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD, and adherence to coding standards
- Identify, prioritize, and implement strategies to reduce technical debt and address vulnerabilities in the codebase
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, Cloud Security, LOB, Network Security, and DevOps to integrate features into broader solutions
- Address and troubleshoot complex technical issues to enhance system performance and user experience
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and code for knowledge sharing and maintenance
- Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment with business objectives
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a similar role with a strong track record as a Senior Data Engineer
- Minimum 7+ years of experience delivering high-quality data orchestration solutions and leading development teams
- Technical skills including Azure, Databricks, PySpark, Python, object-oriented programming concepts, Delta Share, and Terraform
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline setup and automated deployments
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with iterative development and continuous feedback
- Passion for data and data engineering as a long-term career focus
