About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Designer to support engineering teams in the development, checking, refinement, and release of mechanical part and assembly models. This role is highly detail-focused and requires mastery of design standards, drawing accuracy, and manufacturability considerations.
The ideal candidate excels at reviewing engineering drawing packages, resolving design interpretation issues, and ensuring complete and compliant documentation for production. This individual will serve as a technical resource for dimensioning, tolerancing, model verification, and design quality.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and validate mechanical drawings, ensuring precise dimensions, clear notations, and adherence to applicable drafting standards.
- Develop, revise, and manage 3D models and drawings using Siemens NX within a PLM environment.
- Perform checks for fit, function, manufacturability, assembly sequencing, and fabrication efficiency.
- Support engineering teams by reviewing tolerance schemes and recommending improvements.
- Interpret and incorporate design updates, redlines, and engineering input.
- Collaborate across mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality functions.
- Provide guidance to junior designers or drafting staff as needed.
- Coordinate design changes with external suppliers when required.
- Ensure all models, annotations, and drawing attributes meet ASME Y14 series standards.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of mechanical design experience using 3D CAD tools.
- Expertise with Siemens NX and experience working within product lifecycle systems such as Teamcenter or similar platforms.
- Strong command of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009.
- Familiarity with digital product definition practices such as ASME Y14.41.
- Understanding of manufacturing practices, including machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities under schedule pressure.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional GD&T certification (GDTP).
- Experience with aerospace or defense industry hardware.
- Knowledge of weld symbols and design practices aligned with standards such as AWS D17.1 or AWS D1.1.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 or related documentation standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
