POSITION OVERVIEW
As a RPG Developer your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain RPG-based applications on IBM i systems.
- Enhance and optimize existing RPG programs for improved performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain CL programs, SQL scripts, and DB2 database objects.
- Work with business analysts to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate RPG Developer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal RPG Developer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- 3-7 years of hands-on experience in RPG IV (ILE RPG) and RPG Free development.
- Strong knowledge of DB2/400, CL programming, and SQL on IBM i.
- Experience working with IBM i (AS/400) system environment.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and version control.
