Job DescriptionYou will be the
System Safety Engineer Staff for the
AMMM System Safety Team which is responsible for assessing and influencing system development to meet prescribed safety objectives.
What You Will Be DoingAs the System Safety Engineer Staff you will be responsible for performing hazard identification, evaluation and control analyses that protect aircraft weapon systems and sustainment activities.
Your responsibilities will include:- Conduct Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA) to identify potential safety issues early in the design cycle.
- Develop and evaluate Fault Tree Analyses (FTA) to quantify risk and determine root causes.
- Perform Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA) and System Safety Analyses (SSA) to support design trade-offs.
- Establish software safety requirements and assess functional impacts of non-compliance.
- Coordinate safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.

Further Information About This Opportunity The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally
Experience with and knowledge of System Safety analyses, standards, and tools
Experience leading projects and teams
Desired skills Military or civilian flight experience
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754
Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes
Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matter
Experience with military or government programs
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
Model-based system engineering (MBSE) training or experience
Experience working with international customers and suppliers
Government contract execution experience
Full life-cycle experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools
Ability to operate autonomously with minimal direction from senior management
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in the resolution of highly complex issues, including direct interaction with senior leadership within company and customer organizations and a demonstrated ability to deal with complex and challenging customer and supplier relationships
Experience with software safety requirements across the full development lifecycle from hazard identification through development to system/software qualification test

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $125,600 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
