DescriptionYour role at GEI. GEI is expanding and we are seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. This individual will assist with ongoing field and engineering design efforts related to civil site plan set design, site layout, land grading and drainage, stormwater management design and reporting, utility infrastructure assessment and design, slope stabilization, erosion and sediment control design, access road design, and the development and review of construction plans and specifications for industrial, large utility, higher education, municipal, and private projects.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties - Collaborate with technical professionals, contractors, and clients and collect, manage, and review data for a wide range of projects.
- Collaborate with project team to integrate civil design and overall project requirements.
- Preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, technical memos, and reports in compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
- Support site layout and grading designs.
- Support preparation of permits and bidding documents.
- Convert field information to final drawings.
- Report daily progress to field supervisor.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Perform field inspections during design and construction phases.
Minimum Qualifications - BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- 0-3 years civil engineering experience.
- AutoCAD/Civil 3D software experience.
- Proven communication, writing, time management, and organization skills.
- Ability to work well with project team.
- Ability and willingness to perform field work in inclement weather.
- Travel on field assignments as needed.
- Valid USA State driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications- Passed the FE exam.
- Experience with ArcGIS software.
- Experience with drainage/surface water management programs (HEC-RAS, HydroCAD)
