Job Title: ERP Architect / Senior PeopleSoft Consultant (CAPPS)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid; onsite presence required occasionally for meetings)
Work Arrangement:
· This position is a hybrid role supporting a State of Texas client based in Austin, TX.
· Candidates must reside in the State of Texas.
· Some onsite presence in Austin may be required based on project needs.
· This is a contract position, 40 hours/week.
· Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (any valid work authorization accepted).
· Strong communication and stakeholder facilitation skills are required.
· This role supports State of Texas agencies in a public-sector environment.
Position Overview:
A State of Texas agency is seeking a senior-level ERP Architect / Senior PeopleSoft Consultant with deep expertise in CAPPS and PeopleSoft ERP systems.
This role will provide both strategic guidance and hands-on support across CAPPS Financials, HCM, and related PeopleSoft applications.
The consultant will analyze business processes, design and implement ERP solutions, and guide agencies through modernization, upgrades, and migration efforts.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned ERP professional with extensive experience in Texas CAPPS environments, capable of delivering scalable, compliant solutions aligned with State of Texas standards and long-term enterprise architecture goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze agency business processes and translate requirements into CAPPS/PeopleSoft ERP solutions
· Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support for CAPPS Financials, HCM, and related modules
· Design, implement, and enhance ERP solutions aligned with State of Texas standards
· Guide agencies through ERP modernization, upgrades, and legacy-to-CAPPS migrations
· Identify functional and technical gaps and recommend solution alternatives within CAPPS constraints
· Facilitate decision-making with business, functional, and technical stakeholders, clearly communicating tradeoffs, risks, and impacts
· Collaborate closely with business users, functional leads, developers, and infrastructure teams
· Ensure ERP solutions support long-term enterprise architecture and agency goals
Mandatory Qualifications:
· 8+ years of overall technology experience
· 4+ years of experience supporting, implementing, upgrading, or enhancing ERP systems
· Extensive hands-on experience with CAPPS / PeopleSoft Financials
· Demonstrated experience working in State of Texas CAPPS environments, specifically Financials
· Strong ability to facilitate requirements gathering sessions with clients and stakeholders
· Proven ability to analyze business requirements, identify gaps, and recommend compliant ERP solutions
· Experience guiding technical and functional decision-making in complex ERP environments
· Hands-on experience supporting ERP migrations, upgrades, or legacy-to-CAPPS transitions
· Strong collaboration skills across business, functional, and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
· Extensive experience with PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM)
· Experience leading or supporting CAPPS upgrades or major enhancement initiatives
· Strong techno-functional background with the ability to translate business needs into ERP solutions
· Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft tools including Integration Broker, BI Publisher, nVision, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, and reporting tools
· Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder facilitation skills
