Your Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a summer intern who wants to contribute to a variety of energy projects in an impactful way. As an Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to water infrastructure projects which may include hydropower, dams, reservoirs, tunnels, pump stations, water and wastewater plants, water supply, distribution, etc. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken engineering design courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to kick-start their career with a top 10 global design firm, gaining professional experience supporting exciting local, national and international projects and work with industry-recognized engineering professionals.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Your Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
- Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling and evaluating project data, preparing reports and performing calculations for hydropower and dam projects and/or tunnel design projects.
- Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to design and cross-training.
- Performing research and contacting vendors for information.
- Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week during summer break (flexible summer start and end dates).
Education and Experience
- In progress toward earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in structural engineering or related field
