Accounting Assistant to support our Financial Reporting and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong business background, university-level accounting coursework, and relevant professional experience in business management or accounting. This is a hybrid role with a flexible schedule based in Northern Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in advancing their accounting career and pursuing a professional accounting degree or certification.

What You Will Do: - Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Support the preparation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
- Provide administrative and organizational support to financial reporting, labor, and other accounting teams.
- Assist with audits, compliance, and other special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For: - High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills; professional, clear and well-spoken.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Requirements - Completion of university-level accounting coursework
- Work experience in business management or accounting-related functions.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- High degree of initiative and willingness to work extended hours during busy periods.
- Interest in pursuing a formal accounting degree, CPA or related certification.
