RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Austin, TX that is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer for their site facilities team with a focus on data center systems, initially.
Responsibilities:
* Own data center mechanical systems - HVAC, dry air, gas/chemical, hydronic, etc.
* Lead execution during commissioning and troubleshooting of facility system operational issues using first principles
* Create and modify maintenance and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train personnel on new systems and proper operations
* Interface heavily with design and installation teams to assure quality system delivery
* Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems
* Identify and implement improvement projects to increase facility system reliability and efficiency
* Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities to optimize impact of daily operational decisions on facilities budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
* EIT (Engineer in Training) certification is preferred
* 2-3 years of mechanical engineering principles and systems including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water (chillers, cooling towers), heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, and heat transfer
* At least 1-2 years of experience working with data center (rack and space cooling) facilities systems is required
* Demonstrated quick thinking abilities to reduce system downtime while accurately determining root cause with strong technical reasoning and data analysis is required
* Some background with facilities operations sustainability improvement projects is preferred
* Strong troubleshooting background and issue resolution is required
* Strong data and system analysis is required
* System commissioning and startup experience a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
