Job Description Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities - Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a Senior Java / Python Developer, you should have experience with:
- Building and maintaining Java services using Core Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and good fundamentals in concurrency, collections, JVM concepts, and object-oriented design
- Developing Python services and data-driven components using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask, along with pandas, NumPy, data serialization, and clean exception handling
- Working effectively in a fast-paced front-office environment, delivering resilient solutions under pressure in complex and time-sensitive conditions
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Applying good software engineering practices including TDD, SDLC, containerization, instrumentation, and observability
- Designing, developing, and supporting distributed services using REST and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace, or MQ
- Domain knowledge in equity derivatives, risk, or quantitative investment strategies, with the ability to quickly ramp up in new problem spaces

Minimum Salary: $120,000
Maximum Salary: $175,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
