Client Technologies Technician

Location: Columbia, SC

Work Arrangement: 100% ONSITE (40 hours per week)

Employment Type: Contract

Interview Mode: Virtual (Video Required); Second round may be onsite.

Shift: EST (Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Deployment & Management

• Build and configure desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Verify successful encryption by ensuring BitLocker keys are properly stored in Active Directory and Intune.
• Monitor newly built devices to ensure they remain connected to the network for the required 2.5-hour check-in period post-task sequence.
• Confirm all software listed on build sheets is correctly installed and functional.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues reported by users, documenting all actions within the Help Desk ticketing system.
• Perform routine equipment repairs or coordinate with vendors for specialized support.
• Assist with the removal and disposal of obsolete equipment, salvaging usable parts and documenting the process in accordance with disposal regulations.
• Conduct monthly maintenance on backup tablets and iPads, ensuring they receive critical "Patch Tuesday" updates and remain connected to the network during required windows.

Asset Management

• Ensure every device (docking stations, monitors, printers, scanners, etc.) is accurately documented in the IT Asset Management system.
• Adhere strictly to the Desktop Support Asset Management procedure manual for all tracked assets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Desktop Support: 4 years of experience in desktop and networked systems support (desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners).
• Deployment: 4 years of experience in computer deployments, operation, and repair.
• MECM: 4 years of experience working with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
• Installation: 4 years of experience in hardware and software installation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently to move equipment.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with Active Directory and Intune.
• Experience working with a Help Desk ticketing system.
• Familiarity with the NTS Network environment.

Education

• High School Diploma required.
• An Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred and may be substituted for required work experience.
