Job Title : Senior Application Security and DevSecOps Security Architect
Location: Pontiac, MI, Hybrid

Role Overview

The Senior Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security solutions that protect information assets across on-premises, cloud, and disaster recovery environments. This role has a strong focus on Application Security and DevSecOps, supporting software development teams by embedding security into the SDLC.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in security architecture, secure application design, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant systems.

Key Responsibilities

Security Architecture & Design

Define enterprise security requirements and translate them into scalable architecture solutions.

Plan, design, implement, and test security systems across on-premises, cloud, and DR environments.

Architect secure network solutions including LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related security infrastructure.

Design and manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including Certificate Authorities (CAs), digital certificates, and encryption mechanisms.

Application Security & DevSecOps (Primary Focus)

Partner closely with application development teams to embed security controls throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Support DevSecOps practices, including secure CI/CD pipelines, code scanning, vulnerability management, and automation.

Conduct application security assessments and provide remediation guidance.

Establish secure coding standards, application security policies, and best practices.

Governance, Risk & Standards

Develop, maintain, and enforce security standards, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.

Ensure adherence to security frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend improvements.

Leadership & Collaboration

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to security team members.

Support cross-functional teams by answering technical and procedural security questions.

Contribute to continuous improvement of security processes and team capabilities.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in information security, with a strong background in security architecture.

Proven experience in application security and/or DevSecOps environments.

Strong understanding of network security technologies (VPNs, firewalls, routing, segmentation).

Hands-on experience designing and implementing PKI and encryption solutions.

Experience securing applications across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Ability to effectively communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting enterprise-scale software development teams.

Familiarity with cloud security architectures and hybrid environments.

Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities.
