Principal Technical Project Manager
The Technical Project Manager will partner with Engineering, QA, Product, Customer Support, Customer Success, Marketing and Sales to ensure the timely and successful completion of assigned projects. We're looking for people who enjoy diving deep into the technology with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects under demanding timelines. Need proficiency in establishing agile practices focused on timely and good quality project delivery.
This role sits in the Device Technology - PMO. The successful candidate will work in the PMO and be responsible for managing and delivering some key projects. Detailed program management is a key requirement. Any budget experience is helpful. Responsibilities
● Define and drive Agile/SAFe program management practices to manage key projects aligned with company’s business goals.
● Manage cross-team programs by building detailed program plan to monitor milestones, tasks, dependencies, risks.
● Lead the product lifecycle releases, milestones and be responsible for team communication throughout the project lifecycle.
● Partner with Product Management, Product Design and Customer Success teams to bring the product vision to fruition through best project management principles.
● Serve as the single point of contact for project status; risks, dependencies and escalations and provide continuous project transparency.
● Be the ScrumMaster as needed.
● Aptitude and willingness to “get one’s hands dirty”, write executive presentations and manage projects directly.
● Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape.
● Champion the adoption of agile best practices within Engineering and Product Management.
● Have a solid understanding of technical design, API and software application products that are needed to drive the adjoining team projects.
● Work diligently with Sourcing, Security, Legal and Compliance stakeholders at VZ to ensure program execution remains unblocked.
● Own communication of program status at executive level.
● Expertise in data driven program management. Create reports and metrics that accurately summarize complex projects.
You'll need to have
● Minimum BS/BA degree with at least 10 years of experience and a track record in project management.
● Seven or more years of program management experience with focus on software development.
● Deep knowledge and field experience in Agile methodologies.
● Extensive experience with Jira, Confluence, GSuite, Slack, Smartsheet/MS Project, Clarity/any PPM tool, Excel.
● PMP & Scrum Master qualification.

● Budget planning/monitoring/tracking
● Highly organized with an eye for detail.
● Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
● Strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with cross-functional partners.
● Technical program management: tracking dates and requirements in a complex environment involving multiple products, platforms and technologies.
● Experience working on enterprise SaaS products (video or unified communications experience is preferred).
