In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and development of advanced mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects that meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for various applications.
- Perform complex engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure robust and reliable designs.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, CAMEO).
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and failure mode effects analyses (FMEAs) to validate design concepts.
- Collaborate with materials engineers to select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation, including the interpretation of test data.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related roles.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Proven expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, CAMEO).
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with structural, shock, vibration, and thermal analysis
- Experience with design compliant to MIL-STD-108 (Basic Requirements for Enclosures for Electric and Electronic Equipment)
- Experience with MIL-STD-167 (Mechanical Vibrations of Shipboard Equipment).
- Experience with MIL-STD-461 (Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics).
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 (Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests).
