Position Summary:

This Senior Oracle Database Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for managing and optimizing Oracle databases within an organization. This role requires a strong knowledge of Oracle database administration, architecture, replication, high availability concepts, programming, and automation to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of Oracle database systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and maintain automated solutions for Oracle database technologies
  • Design, develop and maintain automated solutions for Oracle database deployments, configuration, backup and recovery, monitoring and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate Oracle database automation process into the software development cycle
  • Implement and maintain Oracle database automation frameworks, tools, and scrips to streamline database operations and enhance efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the Oracle database environment and propose innovative solutions
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolving Oracle database-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and network engineers
  • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of production Oracle databases through effective automation strategies and monitoring techniques
  • Conduct regular performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize Oracle database resources
  • Document Oracle database automation process, procedures and configuration to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with organization standards
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and advancement in Oracle database automation technologies

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration including RAC and Data Guard
  • 5+ years of proficiency in troubleshooting incidents, database performance tuning, Disaster Recovery, database upgrades and migrations, capacity management, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 24x7 on-call support rotation
  • Experience in scripting languages for automation tasks
  • Experience with Cloud, e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS, etc.
  • Experience with Oracle Golden Gate and Open-Source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
