Position: Senior Business Systems Analyst
Duration: 6 -Months Appox
Location : Mechanicsville, VA - (Hybrid)
Short Description
· Seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong systems analysis expertise. This position requires 4 days onsite per week and in-person interviews only. The candidate will support multiple business lines and a diverse application portfolio, including custom and third-party systems.
About the Role
· This is not a standard Business Analyst role—it requires a seasoned BSA with hands-on systems analysis experience. The Senior BSA will ensure business needs are well understood, documented, and translated into technical requirements. Responsibilities include analysis, feature design, enhancements, integrations, troubleshooting, and support for production issues. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, matrixed environment and mentoring junior BSAs.

Business Systems Analysis (BSA) Skills
· Execute BSA tasks across projects ranging from small fixes to large initiatives
· Ensure adherence to SDLC processes
· Create detailed User Stories with Acceptance Criteria
· Understand business vision and recommend best practices
· Analyze build vs. buy options and support cost-benefit evaluations
· Utilize elicitation methods: JAD sessions, interviews, surveys, shadowing, etc.
· Document business requirements, workflows, RFPs, SOWs, and process flows
· Understand system impacts and recommend logical system design changes
· Support technical teams during design and development iterations
· Gather and document integration requirements and source-to-target mappings
· Adapt integration processes for changes in systems or business needs
· Collaborate with QA and support UAT execution
· Mentor junior team members
Additional Skills
· Proficiency with MS 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
· Strong knowledge of web and client/server application concepts
· Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
· Experience with HR and eCommerce systems (preferred)
