We're seeking a Cloud Engineer who brings strong Azure expertise, hybrid cloud experience, and the ability to partner closely with both technical and business teams. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and architecture - ideal for someone who is already performing architectural responsibilities or looking to grow into a Cloud Architect-level role.
You'll work in a collaborative, Agile shared-services environment, helping drive cloud strategy, design modern infrastructure solutions, enable development teams, and evangelize cloud adoption across the organization. Job DetailsWhat You'll Do
- Manage, monitor, and optimize the Azure cloud environment, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
- Design, install, configure, and support hybrid cloud infrastructure and on-premises datacenter resources.
- Collaborate with development and Scrum teams to plan compute, network, and deployment requirements.
- Build and automate infrastructure using modern templates and IaC tools.
- Optimize network and security infrastructure for Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
- Create and maintain documentation for cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring repeatability and clarity.
- Identify root causes behind connectivity, performance, or security issues and develop solutions.
- Support the design and implementation of architectural cloud roadmaps.
- Integrate cloud technologies into existing systems while ensuring alignment with technical and business goals.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal IT groups to resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours duties for critical events or maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field.
- 5+ years in computing or network infrastructure roles.
- 3+ years working in a cloud environment (Azure strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience deploying, managing, and supporting cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with IaC & automation (Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Strong background in hybrid environments, virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud security.
- Experience with monitoring tools, DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to translate design requirements into automated, repeatable deployments.
- Experience supporting IaaS/PaaS systems, virtual machines, cloud networking, and automation pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and performance tuning abilities.
- Excellent communication skills - able to explain complex technical concepts to all audiences.
- High customer-service orientation and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Experience (Bonus Points)
- Azure or AWS certifications (Azure strongly preferred).
- Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019).
- Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Cisco routing/switching experience (CCNA/CCNP a plus).
- Palo Alto or equivalent cloud-based firewall technologies.
