Enterprise Architect – E-Commerce, Digital Experiences & AI
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-looking Enterprise Architect to lead the architecture of E-Commerce and Digital Experience platforms, with a strong emphasis on AI/ML-driven personalization, data intelligence, and scalable cloud-native solutions.
This role bridges business strategy, customer experience, and technology execution, defining enterprise-wide digital architecture and guiding engineering teams across the full lifecycle of digital products and platforms.
Local (El Segundo) candidates are strongly preferred. Remote candidates are required to travel 50% - 75% (to corporate and other facilities as required). Relocation to Corporate in El Segundo, CA is recommended. For local candidates, onsite presence is needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Define and own end-to-end enterprise architecture for E-Commerce, Digital Experience Platforms (DXP), and omnichannel customer journeys.
· Architect scalable, secure, and composable solutions across web, mobile, marketplace, and in-store digital touchpoints.
· Design and govern AI/ML-enabled capabilities, including personalization, recommendation engines, search relevance, pricing optimization, fraud detection, and customer insights.
· Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps aligned with business and digital transformation goals.
· Establish architectural standards and best practices for microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and headless commerce.
· Partner with Product, Marketing, Data, and Engineering leaders to translate business objectives into scalable and future-ready digital architectures.
· Lead architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, and dependency analysis across portfolios.
· Drive data and analytics architecture supporting real-time and batch use cases, customer 360, and AI model pipelines.
· Evaluate and recommend E-Commerce platforms, DXP, CDP, AI platforms, cloud services, and SaaS tools.
· Guide proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilots for emerging technologies including Generative AI, conversational commerce, and intelligent automation.
· Ensure architecture aligns with security, privacy, compliance, and performance standards at enterprise scale.
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, with 3+ years in an Enterprise or Lead Architect role.
· Deep experience designing and delivering E-Commerce and Digital Experience platforms at scale.
· Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures (Google Cloud Platform, OCI, AWS, or Azure).
· Hands-on experience with microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and API management.
· Proven experience architecting headless commerce, composable commerce, and MACH-based solutions.
· Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and platforms, including:
o Personalization & recommendation systems
o Search and discovery optimization
o Customer analytics and predictive modeling
o Generative AI and conversational interfaces
· Experience integrating data platforms and streaming technologies such as:
o Kafka / Confluent
o Cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)
o Real-time and event-driven pipelines
· Solid understanding of identity, security, privacy, and compliance in consumer-facing digital platforms.
· Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and SRE practices.
· Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive and senior leadership levels.
· Cloud or AI certifications are a plus.
· 10–20% travel as required.
