Summary

Role: Senior Avi Consultant

Location: Remote - EST

Scope: Responsible for Deploying Avi

Design & Architecture:
- Conduct technical workshops and discovery sessions to understand customer application delivery requirements, security policies, and performance needs.
- Develop high-level and low-level design documentation (HLD/LLD) for Avi deployment, ensuring alignment with customer business objectives and best practices.
- Design and implement advanced Avi features such as Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Service Mesh integration.
Customer & Project Management:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the customer during the engagement.
- Provide expert guidance on operationalizing the Avi platform, including capacity planning, monitoring strategy, and backup/restore procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet defined success criteria.
Training & Mentoring:
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical training for customer operations and engineering teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and consultants on Avi deployment and troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting:
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex application delivery issues, utilizing Avi's built-in analytics and tooling.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 5+ years in a senior engineering or consulting role, with a strong focus on Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), load balancing, and networking.
VMware Avi Expertise (Required):
- Demonstrated experience (3+ successful enterprise deployments) with VMware Avi (Tanzu Service Mesh/ALB), including installation, configuration, and advanced feature deployment.
- Expertise in Avi CLI, API (e.g., using Python/Ansible for automation), and the Avi Controller UI.
- Deep understanding of L4-L7 protocols and services, including HTTP/2, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, and DNS.
Networking & Virtualization:
- Expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP stack, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Solid experience with VMware vSphere and general cloud infrastructure concepts (IaaS, SDN).
Automation:
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible.
