Position Details:
Title: Scrum Master Banking Modernization
Type (Contract, C2H): 8 months to start, possible extension
Weekly Hours: 37.5
Location: Toronto, ON- Hybrid 2 day's a week (Mon & Thurs), + 1 Friday per month
Compensation: $65-$70/hour
Interview Process: 2 Rounds
Day-to-Day :
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Ensure alignment with enterprise Agile standards, governance, and risk/compliance requirements
- Support end-to-end delivery of features and technical components, ensuring work progresses from backlog through release
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Business Teams, and Program Leadership to drive on-time delivery
- Actively manage dependencies, risks, and cross-team impacts within a large modernization program
- Ensure teams are focused on business value delivery, not just task completion
- Drive transparency around progress, risks, and delivery forecasts in a high-pressure environment
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments
- Must have worked at a bank
- Proven experience supporting feature-based or product-centric delivery in Agile environments (delivering business features and technical components)
- Experience with web-based applications, has knowledge of the user experience and making a product for the business
- Experience working on large transformation or modernization programs
- Hands-on experience working on Agile projects with aggressive delivery expectations
- Strong, confident personality/communicator
Nice-to-haves:
- Ideally previous banking experience
- Exposure to core banking platforms, payments, or large-scale enterprise systems
- Scrum Master or Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, etc.)
- Background in delivery within digital banking or fintech initiatives
