F-35 Aircraft Field Support Engineer (Mid-Career, Level 3)

Job Description

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as an Aircraft Field Support Engineer! This position will support the F-35 Program at our Edwards Air Force Base, California facility.

Our team is responsible for acting as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics technical interface to the on-site customer (Operations and Maintenance) in resolving issues arising from maintenance or modification activities for all matters dealing with the F-35 aircraft. The preferred candidate will be either a Vehicle System (VS), Mission Systems (MS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) or be an emerging authority who has the skill set to accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of APG/Vehicle Systems or AVS/Mission Systems.

What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities include:

Accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of difficulties experienced in the field.
Attend debriefings, to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues that require company intervention to avoid aircraft downtime.
Document all unusual operational / maintenance problems to ensure the company is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends.
Provide training to Customer personnel. Must be able to work with and interact with the maintainer as well as the professional engineers from other F-35 companies as a peer.
Some travel may be necessary; candidates must be willing and able to deploy with Customer personnel to the Continental United States (CONUS), Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
Applicant must be able to work and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant and continued interface with customer personnel at all levels. Provide support for the assigned site on aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations. Perform on-site support as requested by customer, site manager or program manager.
Lead and track multiple engineering and provide periodic status to Customer and Program Management.
Must have at least an Interim Secret Clearance. Must be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance. This position is located at a facility that will require special access.

Technical Report writing
Experience with drawing/schematics reading and interpretation
Fault Isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level
Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license
Military Fighter Aircraft experience
Knowledge of CATIA & System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE)
Previous Field Service FSE/REP experience
Vehicle Systems (APG)/Avionics experience F-22 or F-35

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $89,300 - $154,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
