Job Title: Laundry Wash Lab Technician
Location: Trumbull, CT
Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/hr
Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent
Overview
This entry-level, on-site role supports laundry product performance testing through hands-on wash lab activities and routine test execution. The position focuses on following established procedures, preparing test materials, operating equipment, and generating accurate data for analysis. This is a non-research role suited for candidates interested in practical laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Support laundry product performance testing for prototype evaluation and advertising claim substantiation
- Execute routine testing methodologies, including stain removal and softening tests, after training
- Follow standard operating procedures for washing, drying, staining, and test preparation
- Prepare test materials independently, including labeling fabrics and towels and preparing stains
- Operate laboratory instrumentation and automated equipment
- Coordinate with test requesters to confirm product details and testing requirements
- Ensure stains are prepared, applied, and evaluated accurately and consistently
- Generate and compile test data for review by scientists
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the wash lab
- Assist with inventory management and stocking of laboratory supplies
Qualifications
Required - Knowledge of good laboratory practices
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Preferred - Prior hands-on laboratory or technical work experience
