Job Description SummaryThe MRO Powerplant Engineer reports to the GE Lafayette Plant Leader and works in a self-directed teaming structure. This role is responsible for providing technical support within the shop with relation to CFM LEAP engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Review of engine disassembly and engine hardware and timely reporting of condition
- Raising Departure Record (DR) cases, tracking and actioning in ERP system (OASIS)
- Work with technicians to troubleshoot technical issues that arise within the shop
- Shop Instruction creation / maintenance and review
- Support engineering leader and collaborate with LEAP PSE (Product Support Engineering)/ CTP (Customer Technical Program) on Fleet issues
- Interpretation and translation of customer maintenance documents into Lafayette specific internal documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Work with internal and external departments and vendors on any technical issues as required to support business needs
- Day to day communications, e.g. Specific engine issues, conditions and investigations
- Support and coach self-directed teams to achieve program/business objectives
Minimum Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Manufacturing or Engineering experience)
