Azure Application Engineer

Job Description
Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal applications and services that support cloud, identity, and access management use cases
• Develop production-quality code using Python and/or Go, with the ability to support Java-based services and integrations
• Build and maintain Azure-native application components such as Azure Functions, APIs, Logic Apps, and supporting services
• Integrate applications with Azure identity services (Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, service principals)
• Own end-to-end delivery: design, development, deployment, and production support
• Implement CI/CD pipelines that support application delivery, testing, and controlled releases
• Partner with security and platform teams to ensure solutions meet governance, compliance, and audit requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application and platform layers
• Contribute to architectural decisions spanning application, identity, and cloud platform domains

Required Qualifications

• Strong application development experience in Python and/or Go
• Working knowledge of Java (supporting services, build processes, or application maintenance)
• Experience deploying and operating applications in Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, App Services, APIs, or Logic Apps
• Solid understanding of identity and access concepts (RBAC, managed identities, service principals)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines supporting application delivery
• Comfortable supporting production systems in regulated or enterprise environments

Preferred/Nice to Have

• Experience building internal tooling or platform services
• IAM, security, or governance-focused engineering experience
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred)
• Familiarity with Azure Policy, monitoring, logging, and audit tooling
• Experience with containerized workloads (AKS) and Gitops practices
