Job Details

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Database Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting a large Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Security Service Providers (CSSP). As part of the CSSP's mission, the team maintains the Information Systems Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) solution which uses a Relational Database Management System (DBMS) to manage the large quantity of subscriber data which is routinely fed into ISCM to enable continuous monitoring and to provide key cybersecurity insights which support decision makers.

Primary Responsibilities.

Database Administrator will be a critical member of the team who will facilitate the sustainment and modernization of database solutions for ISCM, leveraging their experience with Relational Database Management Systems and cybersecurity systems.

Key responsibilities include:

Administer and maintain Greenplum databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Perform database tuning and optimization to improve query performance and resource utilization

Monitor and analyze database performance, applying proactive measures to ensure optimal system operation.

Design and implement robust database backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.

Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure quick and accurate recovery in the event of system failure.

Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency of approach and continuity of effort.

Implement security protocols to safeguard databases from unauthorized access, data loss, or breach.

Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and views tailored to business requirements.

Collaborate with developers and system architects to optimize database design and integration with applications.

Plan and execute regular database upgrades and patching to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system upgrades and migrations

Basic Qualifications.

Enterprise experience as a Database Administrator, with relational (and distributed relational) databases, specifically PostgreSQL and GreenPlum. Bachelor's Degree and 12-15 years of applicable Cybersecurity experience, additional Degree's will be considered in lieu of years of experience. Experience working for or with a US government cybersecurity service provider. Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance Security+ certification

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
