Description
We are seeking an experienced AI (GenAI) Engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade Generative AI solutions that accelerate data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. This role partners closely with Data Engineering, Platform, Security, and Domain SMEs to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact AI applications. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering mindset, hands-on GenAI expertise, and the ability to translate complex domain challenges into actionable, AI-powered solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and operate GenAI-powered tools such as intelligent assistants, KPI summaries, anomaly explanations, and recommended actions with traceable citations.
- Design and implement end-to-end Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including document preparation, embeddings, vector search, re-ranking, grounding, and safety guardrails.
- Productionize AI solutions with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and defined SLOs for accuracy, latency, grounding, and cost.
- Implement evaluation frameworks for offline and online assessments, including golden datasets, human-in-the-loop reviews, and drift detection.
- Integrate GenAI solutions with enterprise systems such as telemetry platforms, alarms, ticketing systems, APIs, runbooks, and dashboards to enable closed-loop remediation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, platform and security teams, and subject matter experts to take use cases from discovery through production and continuous improvement.
- Apply strong operational practices, including logging, observability, troubleshooting, security controls, and cost optimization.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 5 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data engineering, or applied data science delivering production-grade solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience handling large-scale telemetry or time-series datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Azure-based data and AI services, including:
- Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Services / Azure OpenAI
- Azure Databricks / Spark and lakehouse architectures
- Azure Data Lake Storage or Blob Storage
- Azure Functions or serverless compute solutions
- Azure DevOps, Git, and automated testing frameworks
- Solid understanding of GenAI development patterns, including RAG architectures, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and evaluation fundamentals.
- Strong production mindset with experience in monitoring, observability, security best practices, and operational readiness.
Domain Experience (RAN & Mobility)
- Strong understanding of 4G/5G RAN and mobility concepts such as handovers, drops, throughput, congestion, interference, and signal quality metrics (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR).
- Ability to translate network challenges into measurable KPIs, investigative workflows, and actionable remediation recommendations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience building internal AI assistants or copilots for operations, triage, or root-cause analysis with evidence-based outputs.
- Familiarity with agentic workflows, orchestration, and multi-step AI pipelines.
- Experience with MLOps/LLMOps practices, including CI/CD, model and prompt versioning, automated evaluations, and cost controls.
- Deep knowledge of the Azure ecosystem, including Azure AI Search, Event Hubs, Data Factory/Synapse, AKS, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with GenAI frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or LlamaIndex, and tools like MLflow or vector databases.
- Understanding of telecom standards (3GPP) and vendor-specific tooling.
- Relevant Azure certifications (Azure AI Engineer Associate preferred).
