responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide daily oversight and guidance for electrical design activities, ensuring all products align with organizational strategies and innovation goals.
- Project Lifecycle Management: Drive projects from conception to completion, managing milestones, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches.
- Design Excellence: Establish and maintain best-in-class design practices. Review and evaluate project activities for compliance with industry standards while providing feedback to improve product quality.
- Innovation & Research: Investigate core and emerging technologies to integrate modern methodologies, innovative designs, and "best practice" electronics into the product roadmap.
- Hands-on Contribution: Act as a subject matter expert, contributing directly to electrical design, development, and the resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers. Handle performance evaluations, staff development, and department budgeting to foster a high-productivity environment.
- Vendor & Cross-Functional Partnership: Research and manage third-party vendors for contracted development work. Partner with mechanical and thermal engineering teams to ensure design cohesion and manufacturing feasibility.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including a proven track record of leading and managing the design of complex electronic products.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical circuit design, evaluation, and testing.
- Demonstrated experience managing direct reports and leading multi-disciplinary projects from concept to launch.
- Exceptional interpersonal and technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with plastic injection molding, aluminum die casting, and mechanical assembly methods. - Nice to have
