Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are looking for a Puppet Forward Design Software engineer focusing building services to Puppet Infrastructure whilst maintain and operate them at scale leveraging AI providing services to enhance and customer experience in a very large and complex environment.

Job Description
  • Automate deployments: Design and implement automated deployment pipelines for code and configuration changes in the Puppet ecosystem.
  • Design and architecture: Lead the design and architecture of agentic workflows and frameworks to automate complex, multi-step business processes used by our customers for Puppet focused workstreams or within the team for Puppet administration.
  • Development and Integration: Develop integrations with other systems, APIs, and data sources to enable agents to perform tasks and access information from the Puppet data. This includes creating and maintain Puppet manifests, modules, and files.
  • Performance and reliability: Implement RAG, memory management, and other techniques to ensure agents are accurate, reliable, and trustworthy.
  • Observability: Develop actional insights to provide visibility into system performance and service SLAs.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide other engineers on best practices, design patterns, and agentic workflow development.
  • Best practices: Establish and maintain best practices for the end-to-end agentic development lifecycle, including testing, automation, monitoring, and logging.
  • Research: Stay current with new AI/ML technologies and techniques and apply to solve problems and improve agent capabilities in the Puppet Ecosystem at scale.

Qualifications
  • Deep Puppet expertise: Extensive hands-on experience using Puppet Enterprise or open-source Puppet in a production environment. Experience with Puppet upgrades and migrations is also often required.
  • Broad toolchain experience: Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud-native deployment for AI-driven services.
  • powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • AI/ML knowledge: Expertise in areas such as prompt engineering, RAG, and other methods for enhancing agent performance.
  • Strong expertise in agentic AI orchestration frameworks and familiarity with planner-executor and multi-agent architectures.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying LLM-powered workflows or AI agents in production environments.
  • Day 2 operation insight: Familiarity with responsible AI principles (bias mitigation, safety, transparency) and monitoring tools for AI/agentic workflows.
  • Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills for complex workflows and distributed agents.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading complex technical projects and mentoring junior engineers
  • Strong soft skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with cross-functional teams and providing technical guidance. Mentor engineering teams in agentic workflow design patterns and share expertise in LLM orchestration at scale.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
