Job Description ECS is seeking a
GEOINT SME to work in our
Fairfax, VA office. Once access and accounts have been granted, this position will be full-time (4-days per week) in both our Fairfax and Springfield, VA offices.
ECS is seeking a GEOINT SME to support a critical GEOINT AI contract.
The GEOINT Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides deep domain expertise across geospatial intelligence, imagery analysis, and geospatial data exploitation to support mission-critical intelligence, operational planning, and advanced analytics initiatives. The SME serves as a trusted advisor to program leadership, technical teams, and government stakeholders, ensuring GEOINT capabilities align with mission requirements, tradecraft standards, and evolving operational needs.
This role bridges
mission operations, analytics, and technology, supporting both traditional GEOINT workflows and emerging capabilities such as AI/ML-enabled exploitation, automation, and multi-INT integration.
Key Responsibilities GEOINT Expertise & Mission Support - Serve as a recognized authority on GEOINT tradecraft, doctrine, and operational workflows.
- Advise leadership and stakeholders on GEOINT requirements, mission needs, and capability gaps.
- Support intelligence production, analysis, and dissemination across strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
- Provide expert interpretation of imagery, geospatial data, and analytic outputs to inform decision-making.
Requirements & Stakeholder Engagement - Translate mission and user needs into clear technical, analytic, and operational requirements.
- Interface directly with government customers, mission users, and senior leadership to gather feedback and refine GEOINT solutions.
- Support CONOPS development, use-case definition, and operational integration of GEOINT capabilities.
Advanced Analytics & Technology Integration - Support the application of AI/ML, computer vision, and automation within GEOINT workflows (e.g., object detection, change detection, activity-based intelligence).
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and developers to ensure analytic solutions are operationally relevant and mission-aligned.
- Evaluate new GEOINT tools, datasets, sensors, and technologies for operational suitability.
Program & Technical Support - Contribute to program planning, execution, and performance assessment from a GEOINT mission perspective.
- Support test, evaluation, validation, and transition of GEOINT capabilities into operations.
- Assist with documentation, briefings, and reporting for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
Governance, Standards & Best Practices - Ensure alignment with GEOINT standards, policies, and tradecraft guidance.
- Advise on data quality, metadata standards, interoperability, and security considerations.
- Promote best practices for GEOINT exploitation, data management, and analytic rigor.
Required Skills - 10+ years of experience in GEOINT, imagery analysis, or geospatial intelligence operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in GEOINT tradecraft, analytic workflows, and mission applications.
- Experience supporting DoD and/or IC customers in an operational or programmatic environment.
- Strong ability to communicate complex GEOINT concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with imagery, geospatial data, and analytic tools across multiple sensor types.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
Desired Skills - Experience with AI/ML-enabled GEOINT analytics and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud-based GEOINT platforms and modern data architectures.
- Experience supporting NGA, Combatant Commands, or joint intelligence environments.
- Background in systems engineering, analytics development, or technical program support.
- Experience contributing to requirements development, PWS/SOO language, or acquisition support.
- GEOINT-related certifications or advanced education.
