Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to provide data expertise and analytical support to the HR organization. This role will focus on HR data reporting, validation, visualization, and data warehousing, with a strong emphasis on developing and enhancing an interactive Power BI dashboard for strategic HR insights.

The selected consultant will work with existing HR data and an initial Power BI dashboard framework, expanding and refining it into a dynamic, automated, and user-friendly HR analytics solution. This solution will ensure HR data is accurate, consistent, secure, and readily available for both standard and ad hoc reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for HR reporting and analytics

• Develop and support a data warehouse to collect, store, and organize HR data from multiple sources

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation across HR datasets

• Implement automated data refreshes to support frequent updates and real-time insights

• Build dashboards and reports covering key HR metrics, including but not limited to:

  • Agency position count and headcount

  • Workforce demographics

  • Turnover and retention trends

  • Leave usage and absenteeism

  • Time-to-fill and vacant positions

• Support ad hoc HR reporting and strategic analysis

• Maintain strict data confidentiality and security, particularly with sensitive HR information

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements

• Provide knowledge transfer and training to HR users as needed

• Apply strong attention to detail in data visualization, reporting, and presentation

Required Skills & Experience

• Power BI – 5+ years (Required)

• SQL – 5+ years (Required)

• Python – 5+ years (Required)

• SAS – 5+ years (Required)

• Data Management & Data Development – 5+ years (Required)

• Strong experience working with raw HR data and HR reporting metrics

• Proven ability to develop enterprise-level dashboards and data solutions

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across functional areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building HR analytics or workforce dashboards

• Strong understanding of HR metrics, trends, and reporting best practices

• Experience training business users on dashboards and reporting tools

• Background working in government or regulated environments (plus)
