Quality Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Quality Analyst 4 in Redmond, WA.

Typical Day in the Role:
Purpose of the Team:
The Quality Analyst will be supporting on site testing of prototype devices within the Applied Sciences organization, ensuring high quality performance and reliability throughout the development cycle. This role requires building software for a new hardware device. The device leverages tight ecosystem integration including Copilot.

Key Projects:
Quality Assurance (QA) (Approx 70% of time):
* Formulate and document test plans based on requirements and specifications
* Execute test plans and test cases on prototype hardware
* Perform functional, regression, and acceptance testing
* Log, track, and validate defect resolution using Azure DevOps
* Test and regress resolved issues to confirm fixes
* Reproduce bugs and gather log data to supplement user-reported issues
* Identify and close duplicate bugs
* Identify and escalate quality risks
* Report testing progress and results to stakeholders

Release Management (Approx 20% of time):
* Collaborate with PM & Leads to plan, coordinate, and verify software releases across environments
* Manage release notes and related documentation
* Track multiple concurrent git development branches and corresponding builds
* Perform software release ring publishing steps
* Coordinate deployments, post-release validation, and issue resolution
* Communicate release status, risks, and approvals to stakeholders

Hardware Management (Approx 10% of time):
* Install software builds on prototype devices
* Perform smoke testing using latest builds to confirm devices are fully functional
* Maintain device records, including serial numbers and administrative details

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of manual QA experience
* 2+ years of collaborating with senior software engineering leadership on QA
* 1+ years of familiarity with software release management
* Ability to execute detailed test plans, document results clearly, and communicate findings to engineering teams with clarity and precision
* Proven ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with cross functional engineering partners in a secure lab environment
* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple test cycles, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to shifting program needs
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize test outcomes and provide actionable feedback
* Strong technical foundation
* Familiarity with Microsoft testing tools, device bring up workflows, or internal validation processes (preferred but not required)
* Experience supporting roles with multi round interview processes or working directly with technical stakeholders is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
