Minimum Requirements:
8+ years hands-on experience as a Business Data Analyst in IT, with strong analytical and documentation skills.
8+ years experience collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to analyze complex data-driven business problems.
8+ years experience designing and optimizing data workflows using modeling or mapping tools.
8+ years experience writing Epics and User Stories with acceptance criteria.
8+ years experience creating and maintaining data-related documentation (data dictionaries, BRDs, mapping specs).
8+ years experience designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards.
8+ years experience leading data-focused meetings and documenting outcomes.
Preferred Experience:
4+ years Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years strong multi-tasking skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
3+ years working knowledge of eligibility rules for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF programs.
3+ years experience interpreting and applying policy within integrated eligibility case management systems.
3+ years prior experience leading and coordinating JAD sessions.
Summary:
Analyze existing business requirements, data flows, and processes to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
Elicit and document comprehensive business requirements for new systems or enhancements.
Translate complex business needs into actionable Epics and User Stories with acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities.
Facilitate workshops, gather information, and present findings to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
Understand business objectives and problems; identify alternative solutions and perform cost/benefit analysis.
Analyze user requirements, operational procedures, and system limitations to recommend improvements or automation.
Document current state processes and data flows; create detailed descriptions of user needs and program functions.
Write Epics and User Stories, including acceptance criteria, for development and QA teams.
Create and maintain data-related documentation (data dictionaries, business requirement documents, data mapping specifications).
Design and present visual data models and dashboards to communicate trends and performance.
Lead data-focused meetings and JAD sessions; document outcomes and drive resolution of data-related issues.
Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements.
Support compliance with state and federal guidelines for eligibility programs (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF).
