Title and Summary

Sr BizOps Engineer

Job Overview:
Leads Reactive Systems Architecture projects and creates the development and delivery of enhanced software solutions. Researches alternative technical solutions for changing business needs. Responsible for assuring the daily activities of the team meet the requirements of SLA's.

Major Accountabilities:
Requires very little supervision while identifying task associated with responsibilities.
Assists in creating all departmental policies and best practices.
Provides leadership by mentoring junior associates and by leading internal projects and initiatives.
Provide Administration oversight and assist lead architect in setting direction for department strategy.
Properly identifies tasks available for delegation and provides follow-up.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information systems or equivalent experience.

Knowledge / Experience:
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of tools, utilities, and knowledge within Message Architecture Administration (5 to 8 years' experience with IBM WebSphere Tools)
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of Systems Mgmt. Engineering's role in supporting business processes.
Demonstrates a strong ability to participate/facilitate cross functional teams for estimating, application designs, and implementation strategies.

Skills/ Abilities:
WebSphere Message Broker experience (V7 & above) on distributed platforms (one or more flavors of UNIX)
Must have excellent product knowledge on the architecture and different components of the product.
Must be able to administer various components of Message Broker that includes Broker Domain, Configuration Manager, Broker, Execution Group, Tool Kit etc.
Must be able to deploy BAR files through Toolkit and from command prompt
Must be proficient in controlling security access to Broker resources.
Must be proficient with the use of Deployment Descriptors.
Must be familiar with the usage of Toolkit for administration perspective.
Must know how to work with traces - how to start, stop and format them as needed.
Must have hands on experience with software installation and configuration on Unix (preferably AIX)
Must be able to take backup of components like configuration manager and broker.
Should have familiarity with the use of databases (DB2 or any equivalent database) that will be used by Broker.
Experience with product migration is an added advantage.
WebSphere MQ Administration experience (V7.1 & above) on distributed platforms (one or more flavors of UNIX and Windows) along working experience (V7.0.1 & above) on z/OS.
Should possess good working knowledge and understanding of Unix and Windows Operating Systems
Should possess good working knowledge and understanding of MQ runtime components on z/OS.
Experience with In Product & Fixpack installations and version upgrades of WebSphere MQ on both Unix and Window Operating Systems
Should be able to administer the MQ product using from the command line on both Unix and Window Operating Systems
Proficient in MQ problem determination, troubleshooting, backup & recovery on Unix, Windows and z/OS
Proficient in the installation, configuration along with the ability to troubleshoot MQ Client installations on Unix and Windows Operating Systems.
Must be able to manage, configure and monitor MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues on Unix, Windows and z/OS

Operating Systems
Must have experience with MQ Clusters
Proficient in IBM's PMR problem determination and troubleshooting process
Should be strong in using MQSC commands. Familiarity with PCF commands is an added advantage.
Should be strong in Distributed Queue Management
Should be familiar with MQ Tracing capabilities
Should be strong in MQ channel configuration using different transmission protocols
Able to setup security for WebSphere MQ queues & other objects for data access and for administration using role-based security on Unix and Windows Operating Systems
SSL Configuration on WebSphere MQ is an added advantage
Should be familiar with using MQ monitoring tools like Tivoli
Must be proficient in the writing/editing of Unix shell scripts
Experience with basic mainframe usage (ISPF, JCL), a plus
Experience with code change management tools(Endevor, CVS, Subversion), a plus
Exposure to any change management tools (GSM), a plus

Non-technical skills
Excellent command over written and spoken English
Good organizational skills, detail oriented, thorough
Must have a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
Must have quality team building skills
Must be self motivated and a self-starter
Willingness/flexibility to work/provide off-hours on-call support as a member of a rotational support team
Uses strong writing and verbal communication skills to build awareness and to proactively promote department's position in support of sound database structures, data governance and other Corporate strategies.
Ability to multitask.
Displays excellent collaborative skills to facilitate cross-functional teams.
Provides the skills to consistently search for improved methods to provide customer service.
