POSITION SUMMARY
Position Purpose/Scope:
Provides onsite Supplier Logistics production support to ensure supplier logistical line-side delivery performance in series production by using efficient problem-solving processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Guarantees supplier launch and series capability by completing logistical qualification activities in the PEP (Product Development Process).
- Represents CLIENT MC in high-stress production-critical situations including:
1. Supplier-caused production stops
2. Air freight (daily/hourly)
3. Quality issues
4. Logistics failures
5. Supply chain failures
6. Natural disasters
7. Labor issues
8. Priority issues
- Ensures CLIENT MC maintains priority over other OEMs.
- Maintains professional relationships with suppliers, especially during high-pressure situations.
- Establishes strong working networks with peers and management to ensure assignment effectiveness.
- Provides transparency by assigning supplier performance measures, maintaining open issue lists, and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Organizes effective meetings, provides direction, and follows up to ensure corrective actions are completed.
- May assume supplier logistics responsibilities during emergency situations, including:
- Logistics Planning
- Production Planning
- Material Control
- Inventory Analyst
- Logistics Manager duties
- Works independently to complete assigned projects and meet deadlines.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by CLIENT MC Operations Supervisor.
POSITION COMPETENCIES
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Psychology OR equivalent of 4 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience:
Minimum 4+ years of logistics experience including issue resolution in:
- Supply Chain Planning
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Material Control
- Production Control
- Warehouse Operations
- CLIENT MC Receiving Operations
- VPS
- Lean Manufacturing
- Returnable Container Management
- JIS WoW
- Transportation Planning
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Expert Level:
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility, initiative, and self-motivation
Advanced Level:
- Onsite logistics improvement leadership at supplier locations
- Experience with CLIENT MC Supplier Qualification tools (RGA/RMT, LOPA)
- CLIENT MC Launch Team experience
- SAP, SCQ Ample, LPKM, GIS, CLIENT B2B systems
- Wrong Delivery and Mislabeling analysis using L-FMEA methodology
- Cross-functional logistics collaboration across CLIENT MC plants
- Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel and PowerPoint
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION / SHIFT
Work Distribution:
- CLIENT MC Spartanburg Facility: 10%
- Supplier Sites: 90%
