OverviewWe are seeking
Data Center Technicians to install and decommission cable and fiber infrastructure in a dynamic data center environment. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, including OSP (Outside Plant) tasks. You must be comfortable working outdoors and have prior experience in low-voltage or data center cabling.
Location: New Albany, OH
Schedule: Mon-Fri- Mon-Thu: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM
- Fri: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- (Subject to change; flexibility required)
Responsibilities- Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in data centers
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety and quality standards
- Read and interpret blueprints and building documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve project obstacles
- Perform cable pulling, terminations, labeling, and testing
- Install ladder racking and seismic bracing above and under raised floors
- Conduct copper and fiber testing and troubleshooting
- Fusion splice fiber (Ribbon/Single OSP/ISP)
- Operate DSX 5000 tester/OTDR tester and manage test results
- Create and apply labels per Portmap
- Handle service swaps of live networking devices
Required Skills & Qualifications- Experience with structured cabling, rack and stack, Cat5/Cat6 cables
- Knowledge of telecom hand tools and wiring schemes
- Ability to read floor plans and blueprints
- Familiarity with copper and fiber cable testing
- Comfortable working in data centers and outdoors
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience- Fusion splicing
- Operating DSX 5000/OTDR testers
- Working knowledge of Linkware/Linkware Live
- Understanding of FIM database
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
